IF YOU DON'T MAKE ANY SALES FROM YOUR PRINTINGS!


Since we've been doing full color printing for a combined 60 plus years, we want to give you a little advice to make sure you have a little better chance at making those much needed sales.

So Here's About 14 Or So Things That We Think Every Business Should Know About Marketing In Order To Get Better Results Through Print Advertising Efforts.

If you're getting better results, then you can print less marketing materials and get the same profits or more. This is a win for you and a win for our environment.

1.  Content Is King. Always. What you say and HOW you say it in writing is going to ALWAYS be the deciding factor whether or not your print marketing materials actually help you SELL, SELL, SELL!!! 

Cool pictures and funny advertisements are neat to read, but if they don't do anything to help me (the customer) make a more informed and educated decision BEFORE I BUY then it was a waste of paper, ink, design, possibly postage & shipping, time and money. Right?

2.  Follow a proven structure for selling through print marketing. Is There A Headline? Sub-Headline, Body Copy That Informs & Educates The Customer? Is There A Real & Clear Call To Action At The End?  Want More FREE Marketing Advice? Just Call Us 1-888-877-5270.

3.  Are You Hitting Your Customers Hot Buttons? Are you saying things that could maybe trigger an emotional response or make them picture you as the solution to their problems?

4.  Make sure to write at about a 9th grade level. Don't lose you potential client's attention because you want to use a 10 syllable word.

5.  Use short sentences. Break them up rather than combining them.

6.  Use the word YOU more often. The best sales copywriting in the world all have used the word "you" more than any other advertisements. FACT!

7.  Actually use verbs. A lot. Get CRAZY, get some attention. Reach out to touch your prospects, make them listen to you, right away!

8.  Use Bolds, Underlines & Italics. They will help you emphasize the important parts of your message.

9.  Be Specific. Don't just say your product comes with extra widgets. Say your product comes with 197 extra widgets than your competitors, enough to finish off 12 more jobs.

10.  Learn to use the word FREE. It is the most powerful word in marketing if you learn to use it effectively.

11.  Try not to use the word "price" or "cost". Instead use the word investment or speak of the cost and then go over all of the value and benefits a person gets when they buy from you. Or speak of the price in terms of the savings they'll recieve instead.

12.  Long copy is ALWAYS better than short copy. If you have the room, like with brochures, then use the space appropriately and sell. But just say what you need to say, then stop. And remember, as O'l Billy Shakespeare used to say, "Brevity is the soul of wit".

13.   Write your ad copy like you'd say it. If common everyday folks are your customers, then write like you're speaking to common everyday folks in a language they speak.

14.  Are you capturing a lead or making a sale? There's really only 3 things to write marketing for: 1.) To Get New Customers, 2.) To Get Current Customers To Come Back More Often, 3.) or To Get Current Customers To Buy More Or Pay More When They Do Buy.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!
Which is obviously why I saved this for last.

"Test & Measure EVERYTHING!"

It makes complete sense to start small. Then work your way up to bigger print marketing campaigns. Here's the logic on this one:

Jimmy prints 2,500 brochures, distributes them out and makes $1,000 in profit.

Jimmy thinks printing 5,000 brochures will make him $2,000, so he runs the risk of losing money on every brochure printing he does from here on out.

If he would have tested and measured his results in small doses 1st he may have found out that changing as little as 1 word could have got him 2X's, 3X's, or even 10 times the sales. FROM THE SAME PRINTING.
